OMT = Hands-On Care
OMT requires a specially trained physician to use his/her hands to diagnose, treat and prevent illness and/or injury. Using OMT, your osteopathic physician (D.O.) will help to restore balance and healthy function to your muscles, joints, membranes and fluids using multiple gentle and often soothing techniques.

Injection Therapy

Dry Needling

Is the technique of using acupuncture needles on trigger points to release tissue tension, increase blood circulation and reduce pain.

Trigger Point Injection (TPI)
TPI's treat painful areas of skeletal muscle and membranes by injecting a local anesthetic. When combined with OMT, the therapeutic effects tend to last longer and be more effective.

Nerve Block Injections
A nerve block is an injection of an anesthetic to decrease the pain signals of the affected nerve.
Nerve blocks treat neuropathic pain and often help patients to better tolerate OMT.

Sports Medicine

Specializes in preventing, diagnosing, and treating injuries related to participating in sports and/or exercise. The function of sports medicine is not only rehabilitative but preventative.

Custom Wellness Program

Nutrition
Nutrition examines the relationship between science and health. Deficiencies, excesses and imbalances in a persons diet can produce negative impacts on their health. We work with each of our patients to educate them on their food choices, and help them create a realistic diet that they can enjoy as well as improve their overall health.

Exercise
Here at OIM we strive to educate our patients about the importance of postural education and being able to function independently. Our Physician Extenders play an integral role in developing custom programs for each patient. Our goal is to get our patients to incorporate their exercise programs into their daily routine.

Yoga
Although yoga involves stretching your muscles, it is extremely different than just warming up at the gym before a workout. Yoga places an emphasis on alignment. Most yoga poses are not stretching an isolated area, but rather involve the whole body in both stretching and strengthening. Many of today's most popular yoga styles allow the body to move from pose to pose, while always keeping an awareness of the breath.

Watsu Aquatic Therapy
Is a form of passive aquatic therapy modeled after the principles of Zen Shiatsu (massage). Watsu is always performed in a hands-on manner by the provider. The patient is usually held or cradled in warm water while the provider stabilizes or moves one segment of the body, resulting in a stretch of another segment due to the drag effect.
